Michael R.
Varrichione
d. Jul 20, 2026
NORTHBOROUGH / WORCESTER
Michael R. Varrichione passed away unexpectedly following a sudden medical episode. He was only 39 years old.
Affectionately known to his family as "Mikey," Michael was, above all else, a devoted father. His greatest pride and deepest joy were his two young children, Brody and Brooke, whom he loved more than they will ever know.
Born and raised in Northborough, Michael graduated from Algonquin Regional High School with the Class of 2005. He went on to build a respected career as a general carpenter, earning a reputation for quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and doing every job the right way. Through hard work and determination, he proudly earned his Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License.
Outside of work, Michael found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed gardening and was comfortable in the kitchen- trying out new recipes, cooking and grilling for those he cared about. Michael also was always willing to try a new food at least once – perhaps twice! He was a loyal Boston Bruins fan and most recently, discovered a passion for fishing and kayaking. Whether working out at the gym, planning a new tattoo, listening to music—or attending metal shows, Michael embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity.
Those who knew Michael will remember his quick wit, sharp sense of humor, and the way he could make people laugh with ease. Smart beyond his years and quietly kind, he made everyone feel welcome. He was the first to lend a hand, expecting nothing in return, and his fiercely protective nature was especially evident in the way he loved family and friends deeply. He was immensely proud of his family, especially his younger sisters who were equally proud to call Mikey their big brother. His greatest legacy will be the countless acts of kindness he gave so freely and the lasting memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him.
Michael leaves his beloved children, Brody and Brooke; his father, Anthony A. Varrichione, Jr.; his mother, Debra L. Stanton and step-father, Brian Senosk; his sisters, Hilaurie Varrichione and her fiancé, Greg Goodyear, and Amanda Varrichione and her husband, Ryan Lang; his grandmother, Barbara Stanton; his loving girlfriend, Alexandrea Maki; aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends. Michael also leaves his faithful four-legged companion, his dog Rex.
Services for Michael will be held privately.
In remembrance of Michael, his family asks that you honor his memory by paying it forward—surprise someone with an unexpected act of kindness, asking for nothing in return.
Arrangements are under the care of Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. To share a message of condolence with Michael's family, please visit www.HaysFuneralHome.com.
