Patricia M.
Foster
May 31, 1929 – August 22, 2025
NORTHBOROUGH
Patricia Mary Foster, 96, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 22, 2025—the date of her 72nd wedding anniversary to her beloved husband, Charles "Charlie" A. Foster, Jr.
Pat, as she was lovingly known, was born and raised in the village of Cornwall-on-Hudson in Orange County, New York, the only child of John J. and Margaret F. (Kilpatrick) Kennery. She studied secretarial training at Rider College Trenton campus before beginning her career as a secretary at Stewart Air National Guard Base, where she would meet her future husband, Charlie. They were married on August 22, 1953, and together began their life in Philadelphia, PA. As Charlie's career took them to various places, they lived in Pittsburgh, PA, Elmira, NY, and Newtown, PA, before settling in Northborough in 1971, where the family made their lasting home.
Loving, generous, and steadfast in her ways, Pat devoted her life to raising her children and creating a warm, welcoming home. She delighted in making birthdays and holidays special, establishing traditions that continue in her family today. With a deep love for children, Pat found purpose as secretary of the Religious Education program at Saint Rose of Lima Parish. She also cherished the friendships she built through Saint Rose's Women's Club and enjoyed volunteering at the parish thrift store. Pat found joy in reading, keeping up with the many magazines she subscribed to, and expressing her creativity through arts and crafts, particularly sewing. Her family fondly remembers the clothes she lovingly stitched by hand.
In addition to her husband, Patricia is survived by her four children: Charles A. Foster, III, and his wife Melissa of Milford, MA; Theresa A. Foster of Flower Mound, TX; James M. Foster and his wife Nancy of Northborough, MA; and Margaret A. Foster of Hickory Creek, TX. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Meghan-Elizabeth Foster and her husband Jon Miller, Jonathan R. Foster, and Zachary A. Foster; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Lilliana Miller; a sister-in-law, Roberta McGinnis; as well as nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 5–7 PM on Wednesday, August 27th, at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM on Thursday, August 28th, at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
In lieu of flowers, Patricia's family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Rose of Lima Parish or Visiting Angels of Worcester, 255 Park Ave #705, Worcester, MA 01609. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.HaysFuneralHome.com
