Patricia A. (Biache) McDonald passed away at the age of 87 on Friday, April 11, 2025. She is survived by a son, Richard M. McDonald, Jr. of Northborough, MA; daughter, Christine McDonald, son-in-law William McCabe, and granddaughters, Mada and Fionnuala McCabe of Alexandria, VA; a brother, Edward M. Biache of Southbridge, MA and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Richard "Richie" M. McDonald and by her brother and his wife Joseph W. and Virginia Biache of Tennessee.
Patricia was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Boston, MA, the daughter to Joseph A. and Margaret L. (Lyons) Biache. She was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament High School in Jamaica Plain. In 1966 she met Richie, the love of her life. They married, started a family, and moved to Northborough in 1977. Soon after she began working as an office manager for A&S Consultants, a woman-owned and operated software company. Patricia spent the latter portion of her career working for Northborough optometrist Dr. Richard Martino, where she enjoyed engaging with clients and laughing with her colleagues. Some of Patricia's favorite activities included going to Cape Cod, bowling at Sawyer's Bowladrome, playing bingo, and challenging her family and friends to a hand of cards. She was a strong independent woman who was the rock of her family and the one to look to for advice and support. Quick-witted, Patricia was known for her gift of delivering a good-natured zinger when you least expected it.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 15, from 5 – 7 PM, at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St, Northborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday, April 16, at Saint Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main St, Northborough. Burial in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough will be private.
Patricia's family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org).
