Paul Ernest Coccari, 76, passed away on April 25, 2026 following a battle with cancer. He was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Elaine L. (Ball) Coccari and his parents Arlene and Andrew S. Coccari Sr. He is survived by his siblings Diane M. Coccari, Gregg A. Coccari, Philip J. Coccari and Andrew S. Coccari Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Cortland, NY in 1950, Paul lived his younger years in Babylon, NY and attended Corcoran High School in Syracuse, NY. A gifted athlete, Paul earned six varsity letters in football, wrestling and track. In his senior year, Paul was honored as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year. He went on to attend and graduate from Hobart College in 1972, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.
Paul married Elaine Ball in September of 1986 and they lived over 40 happy years together in Northborough, MA , where they were surrounded by a loving community of friends.
Over a distinguished 48 year career, Paul held sales and management roles in automotive industry corporations that included Fram, Autolite, and Bendix Brake Systems. He was widely respected in the industry for his deep knowledge of the industry and insightful strategic thinking. In 2002, Paul joined Segway Inc., the developer of the Segway Human Transporter, as its first non-engineering hire.
Outside of work, Paul pursued his passions with energy and enthusiasm. He was a nationally ranked Hobie Cat sailor during the 1970’s and 80’s, a licensed private pilot and a sporting shooter. Paul loved gardening, long bicycle rides, golfing as often as possible all year round and competing in sporting clays and trap shooting.
Paul was a devoted brother, uncle, godfather, business partner and friend. He loved a good story, a great cigar, a well-played golf shot and the roar of an engine.
