Randall S.
Murphy
January 25, 1958 – January 15, 2025
NORTHBOROUGH, MA / TAMPA, FL
Randall S. Murphy, affectionately known by all as Randy, passed away in loving arms at home on January 15, 2025. He was the life of the party and the best partner, dad, brother, uncle, friend and mentor that anyone he touched could ever know.
He was raised in Northborough, Massachusetts and attended Algonquin High School prior to studying hospitality at Johnson & Wales University. Randy enjoyed a successful career in the hospitality industry as a supervisor of restaurant operations. Upon retirement, Randy stumbled upon his perfect "job" conducting bicycle tours in historic Dunedin, FL. This combined two activities he adored, bicycling and teaching others about FL.
Randy had a lifelong love of motorcycles, which he shared with his brothers. He never missed a chance to ride when he was back in town and never lost his skill! He also had a passion for travel and embarked on numerous adventures in the last few years. As many know, Randy was a rock star at-heart which brought joy to all, anytime an opportunity arose. He felt music in his soul. True to his Murphy heritage, he was an avid gardener and loved maintaining the outdoor oasis he created at home.
Randy was preceded in passing by his beloved parents, Bob and Linda Murphy. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife Gail; daughters Natalie (Scottsdale, AZ), Caitlin (Lahaina, HI) and Erica – all of whom he couldn't have been prouder of; sister Sandra (Sean), brothers Bobby (Diane), Dennis (Annie) and John (Laura) as well as countless cousins, extended family members and friends.
Visiting hours will be held at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough, on Friday, June 20th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Family and friends will gather at Trinity Church of Northborough, 23 Main Street, at 12 Noon on Saturday, June 21st, for Randy's memorial service.
