With sadness the family of Robert J. Hunter announce that in the early morning of November 27, 2025, they lost their beloved Husband, Father, Bonus Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend, at the age of 79 years old.

Bob, as he was known by all, is survived by his wife of 36 years Paula (Poulin) He is also survived by his children, Kevin, Mike, Kim, Bobbie Jo; his nine bonus children Robin, Linda, Barbara, Bobby, Richard, Donna, James, Paul, Joey; 23 grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; his brothers David, Billy and Kenny Murray; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his sister Barbara Hafford and a grandson Jimmy Poulin.

Bob was raised in Northborough, the son of the late Ken and Mildred (Patterson) Murray. He honorably served his tour of duty during the Vietnam War. He earned rank of Corporal and was proud to be a United States Marine veteran. Upon his return home, Bob gained employment within Bay State Abrasives, Co. where he remained a dedicated employee for 28 years. As a skilled technician, Bob skillfully repaired pay phones for 15 years for U.T.S.C. Phone Company before retiring.

Bob enjoyed playing Cribbage and golfing with his son, Michael. He also cherished the times spent playing catch or having his hair styled by his great-grandchildren, Raelynn and Remy.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street, Worcester, Massachusetts.

The Hunter family wishes to acknowledge with gratitude the assistance and compassion of Jeff Koopman of Hays Funeral Home, Northborough, during their time of loss.
