NORTHBOROUGH

Ronald C. Fiske of 45 Bartlett Street, Northborough, Massachusetts passed away on September 26, 2018, after a period of declining health. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Lapan) Fiske, their 7 children, Paul Fiske of Webster, Ralph Fiske and his wife Jeanne of Charlton, Deborah Gibson and her husband William of Webster, David Fiske and his wife Nancy of Sterling, Diane Hunt of Falmouth, Donna Byrne and her husband Paul of Hudson, and Wayne Fiske and his wife Bonnie of Northborough; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored. He is also survived by two brothers, Allen Fiske and his wife Elaine, and Gerald Fiske and his wife Carol; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Ronald was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, son of Chesterfield and Helen (Flibbert) Fiske. He attended Northborough Public Schools and went to Stockbridge Agriculture School in Amherst. Mr. Fiske worked all his life at Fiske Garden Center until his retirement due to illness in 1997. As a lifelong resident and business owner of Northborough, Ronald took pride in his town. He and Phyllis were founding family members of St. Bernadette Church. He served on the Northborough Fire Department for 22 years, six of which he was Deputy Chief. He also stood ready to serve his country, serving as a member of the Massachusetts National Guard 26th Quarter Master Co. in Framingham for 6 years. He enjoyed model railroading, antique tractors, vacationing in Brookfield, VT and spending time with his family.

Calling hours will be held Monday, October 1st from 4-7 pm at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 2nd at 10:00am at St. Bernadette Parish, 266 Main Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough.
