Cambridge/Northborough - Stephen (Mongeon) Thornton 52 of Cambridge died Thursday November 24th suddenly

He leaves his husband of four years and partner of 25 years, Michael J. O'Connor of Cambridge;

His Mother Rita Gallant Thornton of Brunswick Maine; Son of the late Edward Thornton; Brother of the late Lesa (Thornton) Ross, and stepsisters, Mary Ellen Wright of Natick, Tara Bowers of Kernersville NC, and Jean Thornton of Daytona FL, as well as many nieces and nephews, and many friends and co-workers.

Stephen was born in Worcester, and was educated in the Northborough schools. Stephen was a graduate of Worcester State University. Stephen worked in Gastroenterology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Boston Medical Center. Stephen was a former employee of Harvard University, as well as the Thornton Nursing Home. Stephen was beloved by many and was known for his love of animals, small children, and a good bargain.

A memorial service will be held for Stephen on Friday December 9, 2016 - 6pm-9pm at Lehman, Keen & McNamara Funeral Home, 63 Chestnut Hill Avenue, Brighton. Calling hours will also be held at the Hays Funeral Home Main Street Northboro on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 11am-2pm. Interment will follow in Howard Street Cemetery. We ask that you keep Stephen in your hearts, remember the good times, and know that Stephen was loved.
