NORTHBOROUGH, MA
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK, NY
Theresa Montaruli Anderson, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2025, at the age of 102. Born in Ruvo di Puglia, Bari, Italy on November 17, 1922, to Joseph and Carmela Montaruli, Theresa was the eldest of four daughters. At the age of seven, she immigrated with her family to the United States on March 19, 1929. Together, her family settled in Brooklyn, New York, which was where Theresa would spend much of her life.
On October 28, 1945, she married Robert F. Anderson. Together, they raised two children, John R. Anderson and Patricia Ann Anderson Campbell. After dedicating 35 years to the NY Credit Group in Manhattan, Theresa moved to Northborough, Massachusetts in 1985, where she made a new home and lived for 33 years with her daughter Pat, son-in-law Colin, and granddaughter Lora-lynn.
Theresa was a woman of strength and talent and had a desire to support others. She worked for 10 years at the Northborough Senior Center alongside director Renee McCue Hall, spreading kindness and care. A devoted member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, she enjoyed sharing her voice within the choir for over 16 years. Theresa enjoyed staying active and faithfully attended water aerobics at the YMCA well into her 90s.
With an unmatched gift for creating beauty with her hands, Theresa found satisfaction in crocheting and designing and sewing her own patterns. She enjoyed spending time in the kitchen baking and cooking, all which she did with perfection and love. She traveled extensively with her family, cherishing adventures across Europe, Bermuda, California, Florida, and Georgia.
In 2018, Theresa moved to the Coleman House in Northborough where she found love and supportive care. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude for Coleman House's director Patrick Blake and his exceptional staff, whose care and compassion made it a welcoming home for Theresa.
Theresa is survived by her loving daughter Patricia Campbell, daughter-in-law Marie Anderson, grandchildren Lora-lynn Williams, Jennifer Mistretta and her husband Michael, and John S. Anderson and his wife Elisa. She also leaves behind her grandson-in-law Gary Williams and five cherished great-grandchildren: Albert "Cam" Williams, Connor Williams, Matthew Mistretta, Aidan Anderson, and Emma Anderson. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and countless friends. Theresa is predeceased by her husband Robert, son John, parents Joseph and Carmela, sisters Nancy, Rita, and Rosary, and son-in-law Colin Campbell.
At this time, there are no service dates set. Once planned, Theresa's family will share plans for her memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Rose of Lima and or Northborough Senior Center.
