Obituary

NORTHBOROUGH

Thomas Pisinski, age 85, a longtime Northborough, MA resident, died peacefully on July 13, 2025 as a result of complications from heart surgery. The son of the late Alexander and Helen (Goblaskas) Pisinski, Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Margaret Pisinski, and their three children and grandchildren; daughter Jodi Moore, her husband Dan and sons Alex and Ian of Fairfield, CT, daughter Laurie Kalapinski and her husband Erik of Southborough, MA and son Jim Pisinski and his wife Laura of Arlington, MA.

Born in Worcester, MA, Tom resided there until his teenage years before his family relocated to Northborough. Tom attended Florida State University majoring in Meteorology which led to an exciting civilian role with the U.S. Air Force. He often recounted his experiences working with U2 Spy planes and conducting atmospheric weather testing. Subsequently, he transitioned into a successful career in sales and marketing within the computer industry working for many of the big corporations at the time such as IBM, Digital, Wang, Compaq and HP from which he retired in 2002. After 'failing' retirement, Tom and Margaret co-ran Artline Greetings, a successful and engaging card and stationery business – selling holiday cards to many large companies and even celebrities. Tom often joked that working with Margaret kept him young and they worked together right up to his surgery.

Tom had a deep passion for genealogy research and throughout his life, he collected vintage maps and genealogy books, and often spent time in Salt Lake City, UT, the renowned center for genealogical records. His research led to Tom visiting distant relatives in Poland on a number of occasions, even taking his father there to see where his parents emigrated from back in 1903.

Gardening and keeping a beautiful yard was another passion of Tom's. Every year he would visit special nurseries to procure beautiful varieties of trees and shrubs and spent most of the spring and summer moving them around in various landscape designs. He was generous with any extra special plant material and several of his Hydrangea and Hosta were transplanted to his son Jim's yard where they continue to thrive, a fact that brought him much happiness and often prompted comments during his visits.

Tom's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. Whether it be traveling, attending his grandson's sporting events, spending Christmas in Connecticut or going to get ice cream often at Kimball Farms, he loved being with his family. Over the years he and Margaret took several special trips with the family to Costa Rica, Mexico, Europe, Hawaii, Washington, Arizona, California, Colorado, etc. He was never so happy as when he was with his family, including his brothers Paul and Ed, and his sisters Nancy Bouley and (the late) Janice Beauregard, and their families.

There are no public calling hours planned. Family and friends are invited to gather at Saint Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532 at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 19th, for Tom's funeral Mass.
